David Brancaccio of Now on PBS meets The SEEN

Written by Scott on April 15, 2011

We are pleased to bring members of The SEEN an exclusive opportunity to meet and share stories with David Brancaccio, host and senior editor of NOW on PBS, and producer of the film Fixing the Future. This lunch meeting is an excellent opportunity for business owners and organizational leaders in our network to share insights in an informal setting with each other and our lunch guest!

As a veteran journalist, David Brancaccio specializes in telling stories important to our democracy and our economy through the eyes of the real people who live in the cross-hairs of crucial issues.  He is also Special Correspondent for public radio’s Marketplace, where he specializes in coverage of economic inequality and alternative economic indicators. His film, Fixing the Future, screens at the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival Saturday, April 16th at 4:00 pm.

This members-focused lunch event offers an exciting opportunity for shared insights on their businesses, their experience with The SEEN, as well as enjoy lunch and dialog with Brancaccio at Ithaca’s newest fresh food cafe (see the Ithaca Journal article from 4/3/11).

Friday, April 15th, 12-1:30 pm

Culture Shock, 109 South Cayuga Street, Ithaca NY
Enjoy healthy locally-sourced soups and salads ranging from $4 to $10. Plus, for this occasion, a dessert special:  SEE Green!
Lemon-spinach frozen yogurt topped with local organic chocolate sauce, granola, and apples. Made with local organic spinach, local organic milk from grass-fed dairy cattle with live culture added, vegan gluten-free granola, vegan chocolate sauce, and local apples!

The casual and organic setting of Culture Shock allows participants time to settle in with lunch and connect with other SEEN members. Then there will be time to go around table to table giving anyone interested a chance to share for a minute their business or SEEN experience with the group. At the end, Brancaccio will have time to reflect on these stories and add his own comments.

We will be sure to share as much as we can about the experience!
